The point is being accurate. If someone is going to endorse something as being correct or authentic and it is not then it needs to be brought to light. Why am I wasting my time? Dave
When did I endorse the watches on the Amazon as being authentic? Common sense says NONE are. I posted to Ken that those ones would pass as a time period piece. You came back and said none there has IIII for 4 o'clock. I bought one myself from that site and mine has IIII. If you want a link to the one I bought I'll give it to you. This is the old sword snaps coming back, you said none in 1st Maine use them because they weren't common but when I pointeed out two in the 1st Maine photo section with them...well your answer was "they were stand ins". Mr Todd named them as members. and yes I agree, why am I wasting my time?

I'll decline and leave well enough alone. We've already sunk to levels that aren't worthy of gentlemen, so why start even more? The "us vs. them" schtick gets old and all it does is make hard feelings amongst guys who should be trying to get on the same page, or a reasonalbe facsimile of one without insulting one another. It certainly does little to promote camaraderie and good-fellowship.
I walked into the men's room at work. The floor in front of all the urinals is soaked with urine, two of the three haven't been flushed. There's used paper towels on the floor all around the trash can. There's coffee grounds in two of three sinks. There's piss on all the toilet seats. - it's always like this.
When I consider the men that work in my building, I wonder if this is the quality of everything else they do.
There's no shortage of people that think they are doing "good enough" that are actually doing a half-assed job. So it's no wonder that our hobby mirrors that brain-dead mindset.
