The snow in the Shenandoah Valley has pushed this event back to April 10 & 11, 2010. So, there is still time to get involved !
In March, 1865, Gen'l Custer soundly defeated the remnants of Gen'l Early's Army of the Valley at Waynesboro, VA. He captured 1500 Confederates, 17 Battle Flags and 11 cannon....but not Gen'l Early !
Please join us as we recreate this pivotal moment in Shenandoah Valley history.
Saturday's battle will be the Battle of Waynesboro. Sunday's battle will be a recreation of the rear-guard action of the 17th Va Btn of Cavalry against the 2nd Mich Infantry at 2nd Manassas. This battle cost Major William Patrick his life. It is on his birthplace we are holding this event. Cav from both sides welcome, but galvanizers are really needed, based on the scenarios.
Also, on Sunday there will be a Confederate Southern Cross dedication ceremony at Maj. Patrick's grave.
$5 registration for adults. 12 and under are FREE.
