We would like to start traveling with our horses in Virginia and other eastern states which are mainly dealing with Civil War. Our second choice, anywhere that allows for good trail riding.
We have done so for short times to Gettysburg and stayed at Artillery Ridge Horse and campground. There you can stay in your RV right next to your horses who have either a stall or paddock.
Problem is, I cannot find any such accommodations in other parts of the country unless you want to board one place and camp in another which could be miles from there. We want to travel to places other than just trail rides and such. Why is there no places to find that cater to both the RV’er and their horse? Lets take out state parks for the time being. Many time you may be traveling and not be near one so what to do.
Staying with the horse should be common place. Why not? Artillery Ridge offers full campground amenities and horse boarding and horseback rides and tours. Why do not other’s. We always hear of people traveling but are these just show people who have designated places to go?
