Good evening all. I am looking to buy a repro (preferably used) 1840 saber. I want to try the reenacting group before I drop my money on a vendor. My only requirements are that it has to be able to withstand long hours in the saddle, and authentic ( no after market additions if you know what I mean). If you have one in your closet or are getting out of the business please let me know. Thank you Andy Miller 1st CAL Cav Co A

I have a Legendary Arms Model 1840 (marked Ames 1849, with WD inspector's marks in the right places), which I had "defarbed" by Sword Restoration Services with the removal of "India" and the addition of a correct Model 1840 grip (the repros don't have the correct grip; they're also not balanced as well as an original, but that's a different story). I now have an original import that I use, so the repro could be available. The blade has some pretty good dings, but otherwise it works and shows well in the field.
Let me know if your interested. Andy German 1st ME Cav., Co. A
Andy Yes I'm still interested. Let me look at my finances, but I'm positive I have the money. I am away at the AZ Wildland Fire Academy until Friday so I really can't do anything until then. Thanks again Andy Miller
