I'm considering the purchase of the Pedersoli C. S. Robinson Sharps carbine, but can find no more information on this carbine than what is on the Pedersoli website. Specifically, what are your opinions of Pedersoli's efforts for this replica; fit and finish, overall quality, etc.? Does this carbine have any stampings like the originals or just the normal Italian stamps? Is the wood American walnut or European? I'd like a fairly authentic carbine that I can take out and shoot. What would it take to defarbe this carbine? Is the Pedersoli offering worth the money?
(I know Shiloh Sharps made a copy of this carbine decades ago, but these are impossible to find these days.)
