I've found myself volunteering these past years to portray a transitional old-world/new/world Santa Claus and could use a pair of sized half-nine or ten knee boots - wide preferred as in EEE. They can even have holes in the soles.
The suit is red wool with white lamb's wool trim. It includes a full cape,, a capelet, a knee-length frock, knee britches with green or powder-blue stocking, a 18th century waistcoat and a tartar-style hat supporting a sprig of holly. I wear both polished brogans and sometimes a earlier era buckled shoe. But boot would truly come in handy from time-to-time.
I once had a pair of over-the-knee boots but donated them to the Cryptologic Museum at Fort Meade for another dummy to wear - actually he was (and is still) a manikin - and he's still wearing my boots.
For all the things I gave you as a child, surely you can help the old man out in his hour of need?
