Hello all, I’m looking for any information on the 4th Mass Cav. Unit History, personal accounts and any other information. Don’t know if this is the right area to post this. In the process of putting a small unit of the 4th together for living history and ceremonies as the area I live had several members in it and one was a Medal of Honor winner. A monument was erect this past year, and several of our members were on the board. We all are seasoned reenactors with over 20 years experience doing the 2nd RI VIR. I have found a brief history of the 4th on the web, and that published of the Medal of Honor winner, but would like to get a more in depth history of the unit. Any help would greatly appreciated
Thanks, Ken Doyon Trooper Co B 4th Mass Cav.
Ken Doyon Bugler 1st Maine Cavalry "Sound out mighty bugles, Blow with strength to end battles. Pierce the smoke-heavy air with Your strains of noble commands. Calls for the weary, Calls for the wounded, Sound out to guide, Sound out to fortify. Warm the soldier’s heart, Ease the officer's burden. Sound out gentle bugle. Sound out to end this war."
